Danceoween began in 2011 when a group of friends decided to skip the house parties and take Halloween to the streets. Since then, itβs taken on a life of its own β bouncy castles, brass bands, fireworks, choreo dances, pizza tosses β each year shaped by the people who show up and make it theirs. Everyoneβs invited, itβs always free. San Francisco at its best.
There's no guest list. If you find us, you're part of it. Danceoween lives in the streets and belongs to whoever shows up.
There's no company, no sponsor - everyone is staff. Danceoween happens because hundreds of people decide it should. It's a do-ocracy: if you want something to exist, make it.
We celebrate San Francisco through joy, not disruption - treating the city and its people with care. We practice Leave No Trace and always end the night with a cleanup crew.
We're committed to Leave No Trace - we leave the city cleaner than we found it. Pick up your trash, and join our LNT walk at the end of the night!
Danceoween takes place every year on October 31st (Halloween night!). We meet at 16th St BART Station around 7:30pm and parade through the Mission, ending on Valencia street.
Danceoween is always free. No tickets needed - just show up!
Duh. Didn't you read?!
It's a roving dance party through the Mission! We've had bouncy castles, brass bands, pizza tosses, comical amounts of Missy Elliott, and wonderfully more than we ever planned for. Wear your best costume, bring your dancing energy, and expect the unexpected. It's joy, pure and simple.
We take safety seriously. There are medics onsite and narcan at every sound cart. If you need help, find your nearest soundcart.
Follow the music, it won't be too hard.
Danceoween is a do-ocracy! You can bring an experience, music, treats to share - or whatever your magic is. To be more involved, reach out below.
